Healthcare technology departments make significant investments in IT tools and infrastructure to ensure medical equipment helps providers achieve the best results for their patients. What should also be given the same level of consideration is how to safely and ergonomically access these devices for optimal usage and improved workflows.

That’s one reason we at GCX enjoy attending the annual HIMSS conference, which this year will take place March 9-13 at central Florida’s Orlando Convention Center. Healthcare professionals can come to our Booth #2679 during the conference to discover how to display electronic medical records and other vital technology with the proper mounting solution.

This year we’re unveiling a brand-new long arm workstation that can hold displays and/or All-in-Ones for better clinical access to EMRs when space is limited or would otherwise impede workflows. The wall-mounted arm extends a couple of feet farther than any of our other GCX arms and is designed for unique room layouts or unusual wall treatments where a normal arm’s length comes up short.

What else can attendees find at the GCX booth?

On display will be our popular adjustable mounting arms VHM-P™ and VHM-PL™. These mounts provide significant advances in cable management, precision movement, cleanability, durability and load capacity. The VHM-PL includes a locking handle that provides quick and safe, one-handed vertical repositioning of the mounted device without interrupting workflow.

We’ll also showcase our Patient Engagement Table that won a 2018 Silver Award for Product Innovation from Healthcare Design. Unlike existing over-bed tables, the medical-grade Patient Engagement Table includes an articulating arm to securely hold tablets made by Apple®, Samsung®, Microsoft® and others as part of healthcare organizations’ strategies to improve patient experience. The tablet may be easily positioned for use by patients, caregivers, or visiting family members.

Similar to our Patient Engagement Table, but new to HIMSS this year is our Compact Patient Engagement Table which is about half the size of our standard table, but still height-adjustable. It’s ideal for rooms in need of smaller footprints, chair-bound patients, such as those using tablets during dialysis or cancer treatments, as well as patients in pediatric wards or parents in a neonatal intensive care unit

That compact table is also part of an upcoming product suite for infusion care areas. HIMSS attendees can get a sneak peek at both the table and a new roll stand with vertical posts to mount infusion pumps and hooks to hang IV bags. The stand makes it easy to mount all necessary equipment without risk of tipping or taking up too much space. It also is easy to maneuver around patients or tight quarters.

The latest version of our popular Fetal Monitor Workstation comes with a new pull-out keyboard that expands or retracts as needed. The mobile cart also provides more positioning options, so nurses, physicians and clinicians can easily access equipment or read results with patients on the fetal monitor screen. Dimmable work surface lights do not disturb resting moms and easily adjustable drawers just below the monitor make for quicker access to and storage of supplies.

As an official HIMSS20 conference sponsor, we’re excited to support healthcare IT professionals in search of solutions to the industry’s biggest issues impacting care delivery. We are excited to show these dedicated practitioners our latest innovations in IT and medical equipment mounts to improve both the clinician and patient experiences. When done well, these products also reduce stress and improve productivity for the IT staffers responsible for making sure the equipment continues to work as intended.

These are just some of the ways we position technology to improve healthcare and the patient experience. Come say hello and talk to us about your IT mount support needs at HIMSS20 Booth #2679. You can also schedule a demo during the show.
